Parc Guell is about a 5 ~ 6 km walk from here, and it was quite easy to find especially once I realised the batches of throngs kept flowing in the same direction that I was going, so I put my map away and just took a punt. Sure enough like a salted monkey to the water. . . They led me straight to Parc Guell. I wonder if you could guess what wonderful sound greeted me as I came to the summit platform ...... a woman playing a Hang drum :-) Wow that was wonderful for me, so relaxing and welcoming I took a . . . Rock to sit on an just soaked it in. It was a Catalonian holiday. .. labour day therefore there were a Lot of people at the Parc this day, in fact quite a challenge to get a picture of a seat space without people on it, yet in one quick instance I managed.
Note that each of these rough stone pillars are of a different style, even one of a washerwoman. .. complete with a pigeon on top.
Gaudi not only expressed in mosaic tiles, rocks and clay but also wrought iron, check out this fence railing too. Also through out Barcelona there are some rather elaborate street lamps again designed by Gaudi. Apparently most of them are gone now yet a few still remain.
